The Acting Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, has hailed the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, the spiritual leader of Nigeria’s Muslims, on his 69th birthday anniversary.
Ag Governor Jobe commended Sultan Abubakar’s steadfast leadership since his ascension in 2006 as the 20th Sultan of Sokoto.
The Ag Governor particularly praised his pivotal role in guiding religious affairs and fostering unity within Nigeria’s Muslim community and across West Africa.
“The Sultan of Sokoto has remained a pillar of faith, wisdom, and moral guidance for generations of Muslims in Nigeria. His unwavering dedication to promoting peace, spiritual growth, and the enduring principles of the Sokoto Caliphate exemplifies a life wholly devoted to service and unity,” Malam Jobe said.
He further noted the Sultan’s international contributions, including his role as ECOWAS military liaison officer, his command of the 231 Tank Battalion during ECOMOG operations in Sierra Leone, and his tenure as Nigeria’s Defence Attaché to Pakistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan, before retiring as a Brigadier General in 2006.
On behalf of the Government and people of Katsina State, the Ag Governor extended warm wishes to the Sultan for continued good health, long life, and Allah’s blessings.
