The Katsina State Government has commenced a three-day capacity building training for 1,250 secondary school teachers across the state.
The programme, which runs from Thursday, October 16 to Saturday, October 18, 2025, is holding simultaneously at seven designated centres: Katsina College, Katsina; Government Unity School, Malumfashi; Government College, Funtua; Government Pilot School, Mani; Government Day Secondary School, Kankia; Government Girls Secondary School, Daura; and Government Girls Arabic Secondary School, Dutsinma.
The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa, said Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has invested heavily in education to equip teachers with modern teaching techniques for quality service delivery.
“When you empower one teacher, you empower many; when you empower all, you empower the entire society,” Musawa stated at the opening ceremony at Katsina College on Thursday.
She noted that the ministry has conducted several training programmes with development partners and assured that more capacity building initiatives will follow to benefit every teacher in the state.
The commissioner urged participants to apply the knowledge gained in their schools to improve students’ academic performance.
Ministry directors have been deployed to the seven training centres to monitor and supervise the exercise.
Senior officials present at the opening ceremony included Alhaji Salisu Yakubu, Director of Administration and Supply; Zonal Coordinators of ZEQA Katsina and Rimi Zones; and other directors.
The training aligns with the Radda administration’s commitment to improving teaching and learning standards across Katsina State.
