The 2nd Edition Of The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu U-18 Boys Football Tournament Has Kicked Off At The Muhammadu Dikko Stadium In Katsina.
Katsina State Governor Mal Dikko Umaru Radda kicks off the competition during the opening ceremony match of the tournament involving Katsina and Bauchi states.
The governor, who was represented by the commissioner of sports and youth development, Aliyu Lawal Zakari, welcomed all the participating states to the home of hospitality and heritage.
The governor describes the tournament as an avenue for nurturing young talent, sportsmanship, and cordial relationships between the participating states.
Radda assured the state government of its readiness to continue hosting and sponsoring the tournament in Katsina State in order to complement federal government efforts in promoting football from the grassroots levels.
Addressing the pressmen, the YSFON national president, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, represented by the vice president of the Northwest, Aminu Ahmed Wali, acknowledged the effort and commitment of the Katsina State government for hosting the second edition of the tournament.
Dr. Gawuna restates readiness to ensure fairness among all the participating states from the beginning to the end of the tournament.
The opening match ended by two goals to nil in favor of the Bauchi YSFON team.
