Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, joined hundreds of mourners at the funeral prayer of the late Muntari Ɗan Aminu, Secretary of Kankia Local Government Area, who passed away today at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, after a brief illness at the age of 63.
The Janazah prayer was led by Malam Musa Danlami Ingawa, one of the Imams of Masjidul Bilal Bin Raba’a, Katsina, in accordance with Islamic rites, with prayers offered for the forgiveness of the deceased and his admission into Aljannatul Firdaus.
Family members, government officials, traditional and community leaders, as well as friends and associates from within and outside Katsina State, attended the prayer to pay their last respects.
Late Muntari Ɗan Aminu was the younger brother of Colonel Abdulmumini Aminu (rtd), former Military Governor of old Borno State.
He was widely known as a dedicated public servant, respected for his humility, sense of duty and commitment to the development of his community. He is survived by one wife and six children.
After the prayer, Governor Radda and other mourners accompanied the remains of the deceased to Gidan Dawa Cemetery, Katsina, where he was laid to rest.
Describing the death as a painful loss, Governor Radda said the late Local Government Secretary lived a life of service and responsibility to his people and the state.
“The passing of Muntari Ɗan Aminu is a great loss to his family, Kankia Local Government Area and Katsina State as a whole. He served with dedication and the fear of Allah,” the Governor said.
Governor Radda prayed that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him mercy and admits him into Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for Allah to grant the bereaved family the strength and patience to bear the loss, urging them to remain steadfast and take solace in the will of Allah, as death is the inevitable end of every soul.
The funeral was attended by top government officials, community leaders, members of the business community and other dignitaries.
