The National Coordinator of the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus Programme, Dr. Abdulkarim Obaje, has commended the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, for his strong commitment to the successful implementation of NG-CARES 2.0 in the state.
Dr. Obaje gave the commendation following the state government’s provision of additional operational vehicles to support the State CARES Coordinating Unit and its Delivery Platforms.
He described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the Governor’s dedication to ensuring effective service delivery and smooth programme operations.
According to the National Coordinator, the timely logistical support reflects the state government’s proactive approach and readiness to commence the next phase of the programme.
“This strategic support by Governor Radda, underscores Katsina State’s strong ownership of the NG-CARES programme,” Dr. Obaje stated.
He added that the provision of operational vehicles would significantly enhance coordination, field supervision, and timely delivery of interventions to beneficiaries across the state.
The NG-CARES Coordinator noted that the Federal CARES Support Unit remains committed to working closely with Katsina State and other participating states to ensure that NG-CARES 2.0 achieves its objectives.
He urged other state governments to emulate Katsina State’s example by providing adequate support to facilitate seamless programme implementation.
The NG-CARES programme is designed to mitigate the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 on vulnerable households and small businesses through targeted interventions in cash transfers, livelihood support, and community resilience building.
Governor Radda’s administration has consistently demonstrated commitment to social intervention programmes aimed at improving the livelihoods of Katsina residents.
