The Honourable Member representing Dutsinma/Kurfi Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Army, Hon. Aminu Balele Kurfi (Dan Arewa), through the able representation of his brother Dr. Aliyu Rabi’u Kurfi (Dan Masanin Kurfi), General Manager of Katsina State Housing Authority, generously sponsored the NYSC Inter-Platoon Cultural Carnival held at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Katsina State.
While addressing the gathering, Dr. Aliyu Rabi’u Kurfi (Dan masanin Kurfi) expressed his delight and honor to stand in for his younger brother, Hon. Aminu Balele Kurfi, at the closing ceremony of the orientation camp. In his goodwill message, he announced the donation of ₦1,000,000 by Hon. Balele to support the event and encourage cultural unity among corps members.
The vibrant cultural competition featured various ethnic groups represented by the platoons — including Hausa, Yoruba, Tiv, Igbo, Kanuri, Edo, Orobo, and Kilba. The Tiv platoon emerged as the overall winner, followed by the Igbo and Hausa platoons in second and third positions respectively. All winning groups were presented with prizes in recognition of their outstanding performances.
Additionally, the event celebrated the Mr. and Miss NYSC, who were also awarded gifts for their achievements.
This generous gesture by Hon. Aminu Balele Kurfi reflects his continued commitment to youth development, cultural integration, and national unity.
