Rimi Local Government Sponsors Free Eye Treatment

Rimi Local Government has sponsored the treatment of ninety three people with eye ailments in the area.

The beneficiaries of the free eye treatment will undergo surgery at a Kano based Hospital Golden Vision.

The beneficiaries of the free eye treatment by Rimi Local Government were drawn from all the ten political wards of the area.

A total of about two thousand people with different eye problems were screened by the team conducting the exercise which took place at Rimi Comprehensive Health Centre.

After the screening, those with minor problems were given drugs provided by the Local Government free of charge.

On the other hand, the team identified that, the ninety three people out of the people who were screened are to undergo surgery, which made it possible for the local government to sponsor them.

The Chairman of Rimi Local Government Alhaji Muhammad Ali Rimi who led other officials of the local government led the beneficiaries to Kano for the eye surgery.

Addressing newsmen on the exercise, the Rimi Local Government Chairman said the move is inline with the commitment of his administration to assist the less previlleged patients to enable them feel a sense of belonging.

Alhaji Muhammad Ali Rimi added that the exercise is also part of his zeal to follow the footstep of Governor Radda in carrying out humanitarian services.

He said the local government will continue to initiate various programmes which have direct bearing on the lives of people of the area, more especially the rural populace.

In his remark, the Chairman Contact and mobilisation of the electioneering campaign of the Chairman Professor Aminu Usman, assured people of the area that Muhammad Ali Rimi will not betray them over the mandate given to him.

Professor Aminu Usman who wished the beneficiaries a successful surgery, and called on them to reciprocate the gesture by remaining prayerful for the success of the Chairman.

A cross section of the patients expressed gratitude to the Local Government for the concern shown to them, and assured to remain supportive and prayerful for the success of Governor Radda and the Chairman Muhammad Ali Rimi.
