The Katsina State police command has revealed how its operatives recovered a stolen Toyota car and valuable properties in katsina.
The Command’s spokesman, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu made the revelation and explained that the items were earlier stolen in Abuja.
He equally revealed that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the recovered properties.
Aliyu explained ” The Katsina State Police Command has succeeded in arresting a notorious suspected car snatcher and recovered a stolen motor vehicle in a renewed effort in the fight against auto theft in the command.
” On August 30th, 2025, at about 8:00 am, information was received at the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit that a black 2019 Toyota Corolla, robbed from the residence of one Mr Sunday Solomon Jiyah, m, of Federal Housing Authority, Phase 1, Lugbe, Abuja, alongside other valuables, were traced to Katsina State.
“Upon receipt of the information, quickly, detectives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit swung into action, successfully tracking the stolen vehicle to the Kofar Kwaya Area, Katsina Metropolis. Following diligent efforts, the team successfully arrested one Muhammad Abdullahi, male, age 28, of Kofar Kaura quarters, Katsina, in possession of the said vehicle.
“During the investigation, the suspect confessed to having received the stolen vehicle from one Abdul, alias Dukiya, m, of Malumfashi LGA, Katsina State, a notorious car snatcher, now at large.
” Efforts are being sustained to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspect(s) as the investigation proceeds.
“The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Bello Shehu, psc, fdc, MNIM, commends the dedication and professionalism of the operatives. He further reassures the public of the commitment of the command towards maintaining peace and resilience security and appeals for continued cooperation and timely information to aid crime fighting in the command.”
