Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, in line with his deep commitment to education, has approved the immediate renovation of classroom blocks at Nagogo Primary School, Katsina.
This marks another immediate and impactful intervention under his administration’s drive to strengthen the education sector.
The Governor made this declaration yesterday during the launch of the Dan Amana Tested and Trusted Initiative, a program designed to provide educational materials to orphans and children from less privileged families.
Initially, due to protocol and security considerations, Governor Radda was advised not to attend the event in person but to send a representative, since it was considered a “small” program.
However, he insisted on being physically present, stressing that the programme was, in fact, highly significant because it directly touches the lives of orphans and vulnerable children.
During his visit to Nagogo Primary School, after lunch of the distribution educational support materials, the Governor observed something beyond the day’s activity. He noticed that some classroom blocks, including the headmaster’s office, were in a state of disrepair, creating an unconducive environment for learning.
Deeply moved by what he saw, Governor Radda personally inspected the dilapidated structures. Right there, he summoned the headmaster and requested details of the school’s most urgent needs.
Without delay, the Governor ordered the immediate renovation of the classroom blocks at Nagogo Primary School to ensure pupils can learn in a safe and conducive environment. He directed that expenditure proposals be submitted to him by the 13th of this month, assuring the school community that government would promptly approve the project for execution. He emphasized that, God willing, the repairs would not be delayed.
Governor Radda reaffirmed that this decision reflects his consistent commitment to education.
He stressed that no matter the size of the program whether large or small his administration will always support, supervise, and launch initiatives that uplift education and improve the lives of children in Katsina State.
The Governor urged teachers, parents, and community leaders to work closely with government in sustaining this renewed effort in education.
He concluded by assuring that his administration will never relent in its drive to provide Katsina children with access to quality education in a dignified environment.
