The Emir of Daura Alhaji Umar Faruq Umar has enjoined eligible people in Katsina state to participate actively in the ongoing nation wide voters registration exercise.
Alhaji Umar Faruq Umar made the call when he received the newly elected Executives of Katsina State chapter of Arewa Consultative Forum led by the chairman Alhaji shehu Musa Malumfashi on a courtesy visit.
The Emir of Daura Alhaji Umar Faruq Umar said the call has become very imperative as only through obtaining voter card eligible people are qualified to exercise their civil rights during elections.
Alhaji Umar Faruq Umar pointed out that the state chapter of Arewa Consultative Forum has a vital role in creating awareness to people on the impact of the exercise which is one of the major issues of national concern.
The Emir expressed delight over the formation of the forum in Katsina state to enable members contribute towards addressing challenges affecting people of the state and the Northern Nigeria as a whole.
He charged the newly elected Executives of the forum to work tirelessly in promoting peace, unity and understanding among people for the overall development of the Katsina State and the Northern states.
The Emir of Daura assured that the Emirate would give the forum all necessary support to achieve the set goals of its establishment.
The chairman of Katsina state chapter of Arewa Consultative Forum Alhaji Shehu Musa Malumfashi said they were at the Palace of the Royal father to introduce themselves as the newly elected Executives and to seek for his fatherly advice.
Alhaji Shehu Musa Malumfashi noted that the the state chapter of Arewa Consultative Forum was formed in 2024 with leaders on Acting capacity and some few months back they were elected as the new officials of the forum.
He revealed that the forum has done some humanitarian services to include sponsorship of some children for surgery on typhoid fever at Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina, procured medication for distribution to health facilities and creating more awareness to the public on the impact of voters registration exercise through jingles among others.
He solicited for the Emir’s support and cooperation to achieve the desired success.
Earlier, the publicity Secretary of the forum Alhaji Sada Salisu Rumah who is also the Danwairen Katsina spoke extensively on the motives behind the formation of the state chapter of the forum and the calibre of people involved as members include elders, traditional titled holders, and different people with high dignity across the state.
Alhaji Sada Salisu Rumah assured that the Executives of the forum would work diligently for the overall development of Katsina state and the Northern Nigeria as a whole.
