Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed his condolences to former Bauchi State Governor and elder statesman, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu (Walin Bauchi), over the passing of his beloved mother, Hajiya Halima Sulaiman Rabi’u, also known as Hajiya Halima Suleiman Dabo. She died at the age of 92.
According to a statement from the family, the late Hajiya Halima Sulaiman Rabi’u passed away on Friday, 1st November 2025, corresponding to the 10th of Jumada Al-Awwal, 1447 A.H., after a brief illness at the Saudi-German Hospital in Medina, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She was laid to rest in Medina in accordance with Islamic rites.
In his condolence message, Governor Radda described the late matriarch as a woman of deep faith, humility, and compassion, whose long and graceful life was dedicated to Allah, her family, and her community. He noted that her strength of character and discipline were clearly reflected in the exemplary leadership and public service of her son, Dr. Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu.
“The passing of a mother leaves a void that no words can fill. Hajiya Halima Sulaiman Rabi’u was more than a mother to her children; she was their guide, mentor, and moral compass. Her values of faith, honesty, and kindness shaped a son who led his people with distinction and integrity,” Governor Radda said.
He further described her as a matriarch whose quiet strength and generosity touched many lives across generations, both within her community and beyond.
“Her passing is not only a personal loss to the Mu’azu family but also to the people of Bauchi State and indeed Nigeria, who continue to benefit from the legacy of leadership and service she inspired,” the Governor added.
Governor Radda urged Dr. Mu’azu and the entire family to take comfort in the fact that their mother lived a long, fulfilled, and purposeful life devoted to faith and humanity.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Katsina State, I extend our deepest sympathies to Dr. Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu, the Mu’azu family, and the good people of Bauchi State at this time of sorrow. We pray that Almighty Allah forgives her shortcomings, grants her eternal rest in Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and gives the family the strength to bear this great loss,” Governor Radda prayed.
