As part of the Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Empowerment Programme, the wife of the Katsina State Governor, Hajia Zulaihat Dikko Radda has followed the example of her counterparts in the FCT and among Military and Police veterans by donating 200,000 Naira each to 250 persons with disabilities across the 34 Local Government Areas of the state.
The donation was made during activities marking the 2025 World Disabilities Day at the Banquet Hall, Government House Katsina, under the theme: “Fostering Disability Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress.”
Representing Hajia Zulaihat, the Commissioner of Women Affairs, Hajia Amina Aminu Malumfashi said that a total of over 1 billion Naira will be distributed across the country, benefiting 9,500 persons with disabilities in all 36 states.
She emphasized the importance of empowering persons with disabilities to help them fully participate in economic opportunities.
Earlier, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Disability, Lieutenant Hudu Usman (Retired), expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Nigeria First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and the Governor’s wife Hajia Zulaihat Dikko Radda in supporting persons with disabilities.
The event also featured the presentation of an award to Hajia Zulaihat Dikko Radda in recognition of her contributions.
