The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Kwara state chapter has called on the federal government to urgently investigate the viral video in circulation alleging the arrest of suspects in Edo state with arms and vehicle belonging to Ifelodun local government area of Kwara state.
Addressing a news conference at the state PDP secretariat in Ilorin, the state chairman of the party, Isa Bawa-Adamu said the situation requires serious scrutiny.
According to him during interrogation in the video one of the suspects alleged that they have been in Kwara state for quite sometime.
He said the suspects alleged that the Ilorin government gave them the vehicle and the weapon to use.
Bawa-Adamu explained that in the video the suspects claimed it was their oga one Victor that collected the delivery of the AK-47 and vehicle for their use.
He said the state government has a lot of questions to answer on the issue that allegedly link it to the activities of bandits in the state.
The PDP Chairman said the state governor as the chief security officer of the state should allow full investigation into the matter to ensure justice and fairness.
Bawa-Adamu noted that a recent study by the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICRC) revealed that between January and November this year a lot of killings has taken place in Patigi, Eruku, Oke -Ode, Babanla town in Ifelodun local government, Isapa in Ekiti local government and Agbeku communities among others.
He said the party demand immediate answer to the name mentioned, Oga Victor, and his involvement in the killing of people in the state.
Bawa- Adamu said the approval for the release of a vehicle belonging to Ifelodun local government area of the state headed by Femi Yusuf should also be investigated.
