Katsina State Governor and Chairman of the Northwest Governors’ Forum, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has commiserated with the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, over the passing of Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Soliu, the Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate.

Governor Radda, in a condolence message, described the late Chief Imam as a distinguished Islamic scholar whose contributions to the propagation of Islamic knowledge and peaceful coexistence will remain indelible.

He noted that Sheikh Bashir Soliu lived a life of piety, service, and dedication to the spiritual upliftment of the Muslim Ummah, particularly in Ilorin Emirate and beyond.

“The death of Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Soliu is a great loss not only to Kwara State but to the entire Muslim community in Nigeria. His wisdom, humility, and commitment to Islamic teachings touched countless lives,” Radda stated.

The Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, describing the loss as deeply painful for the Ilorin Emirate and the traditional institution.

He prayed that Almighty Allah grants the late Chief Imam Al-Jannah Firdaus and gives his family, the Emir, the government and people of Kwara State, and the entire Muslim Ummah the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
