Governor Radda Pledges Support for Traditional Institutions, Celebrates Muduru District Head Appointment

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening traditional institutions and recognizing individuals with proven records of service, leadership, and philanthropy.

Governor Radda made the remarks on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by a high-powered delegation from the newly appointed District Head of Muduru, Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu, mni who holds the historic title of Sarkin Muduru.

Addressing the delegation, the Governor expressed personal pride in the Muduru community, tracing his family heritage to the district.

He recalled that his great-grandfather was the first Sarkin Muduru, a title earned through bravery and service, while his grandfather later served as Village Head of Radda.

“I am extremely happy that during my time, this family has been elevated to the position of District Head. More importantly, the title was given to someone who will represent the family and the district with dignity and honour,” Governor Radda stated.

He commended the Emir of Katsina for appointing an individual with experience, exposure, and a record of service at both state and national levels, stressing that modern traditional appointments must combine heritage with merit, competence, and leadership capacity.

“The new District Head has already demonstrated leadership and generosity even before this appointment. His contributions to his community and across the state are well known. He played a significant role in supporting my journey to becoming governor,” the Governor added.

Governor Radda highlighted the wide reach of the District Head’s humanitarian efforts, noting that his support extends beyond Muduru and Mani Local Government Area to communities across Katsina State and even southern Kaduna.

Earlier, the Chairman of the delegation and former Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Dr. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, described the appointment as historic.

He praised the Governor for his leadership and commitment to inclusive governance.

Ambassador Rufai described the new District Head, Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu, as a man of many identities—civil servant, paramilitary collaborator, philanthropist, and farmer—noting his multifaceted contributions to Katsina State and Nigeria.

He further commended Governor Radda for assembling a competent and knowledgeable team.

The delegation of friends and associates of Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu, mni included prominent personalities from across Nigeria.

The event had in attendance top government officials, including Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasiru Yahaya Daura, Principal Private Secretary, Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji, APC State Chairman, Hon. Sani Aliyu J.B. Daura, traditional rulers, elders, members of the business community, and well-wishers from across the state.

Members of the delegation include Ambassador E. E. Imohe, Ambassador E. O. Okafor, Ambassador Lawal Kazaure (Danmasanin Kazaure),Brig Generak S K Usman rtd, Mni Engineer Bala Almu Banye (Zarma), and Ambassador Sani Bala (Wambai).
