A video clip trending online shows that Jikamshi town in Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State was attacked by bandits Tuesday evening minutes before the Ramadan fast break (Iftar).
Bandits were seen with assault riffles standing on the road and shooting sporadically without any restriction.
The attack, which reportedly lasted nearly two hours, left one person dead and several others with varying degrees of injury.
According to the X user who posted the video clip on his X handle, “This is how the armed bandits opened fire in Jikamshi town this evening, sending residents fleeing for safety. Local sources indicate the attackers are still inside nearby communities and have not yet withdrawn.”
Describing the attack as “sad news”, he said the attackers stormed the community and operated for an extended period without resistance, leaving destruction and fear in their wake.
According to him, “the attack lasted nearly two hours, leaving one resident dead, several others injured and many valuables looted.
