Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has congratulated two brilliant students from Government College Funtua on their outstanding achievement at the I-Fest² Projects Competition 2026 organised by the Association for the Future of Sciences and Technology (ATAST) in Tunisia.
The students, Abdullahi Sani Matoya and Abubakar Abdullahi alongside their dedicated teacher Mal. Yazid Ahmed, emerged as the 2nd Overall Best in Environmental Science Project against strong international competition.
The Governor expressed his delight that Katsina State students are now competing and winning on the global stage.
“This achievement proves that our education reforms are bringing real results. Our young people have the talent and innovation to compete with the best in the world,” Governor Radda stated.
He commended the students for making Katsina State and Nigeria proud at the international event.
The I-Fest² 2026 competition brought together over 1,200 students and 450 projects from 40 countries in Tunisia. The prestigious competition, organized by ATAST Association for its 17th edition, showcased some of the brightest young minds in science, technology, and innovation from across the globe.
Governor Radda remarked, “When we invest in education, when we support our students and teachers, we create champions. These young people have shown that investment in quality education pays off.”
He noted that sponsoring the students to participate in the international competition was an investment in Katsina’s future.
The Governor also praised teacher Mal. Yazid Ahmed for guiding the students to success, while encouraging other students to aim for excellence in their chosen fields.
