The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari have been laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has extended her heartfelt condolences to the people of Katsina State, Nigerians, and the international community over the death of the former president.
She was received at Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport, Katsina, by the State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, and his wife, Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Radda.
Senator Oluremi was accompanied by the Wife of the Vice President, President of the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), and the wives of the Governors of Adamawa, Yobe, Ogun, Kebbi, Osun, Imo and Rivers states, as well as spouses of some federal ministers.
She describing the late President Buhari as a disciplined and principled leader, she said he remained steadfast in his values of simplicity, accountability, and selfless service to the people.
The First Lady offered prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul and strength for his family to bear the loss.
During the visit, the Emir of Daura, Dr. Umar Faruq Umar, received the delegation at his palace and wished them a safe journey back to their various destinations.
