President Bola Tinubu will inaugurate some of the completed projects executed under his administration in the Federal Capital Territory, beginning from May 27 to June 6.

The Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, stated this while inspecting some of the projects in preparation for inauguration to celebrate Tinubu’s one year in office.

He said, “Particularly on May 27, President Tinubu will inaugurate commercial operations of the Abuja Light Rail also known as Abuja Metro Line, we will carry out the final inspection of the project on May 20″.

“As you know, this is the final inspection we are doing as regards the preparedness for the inauguration of the various projects. With the approval of Mr President, we believe that from the 27th of this month, we shall start the inauguration of the various projects.” he said.

The former Governor of Rivers State Wike, also said he is not distracted by the ongoing crisis in Rivers State but focused on his duties as a minister.

Wike and his successor, Governor Siminalyi Fubara, have been at loggerheads since October 2023, when some lawmakers in the state began impeachment proceedings against the governor.

Last Saturday, while addressing a civic reception in Ogu-Bolo, Rivers State, the minister stated that he had made a mistake, which he promised to correct “at the appropriate time”. He, however, did not specify the exact mistake he made.

“I want to say this clearly, in life, we have made a mistake. I have made a mistake. I own it up, and I say God forgive me. I have said all of you forgive me. But we will correct it at the appropriate time,” he declared.
