Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Radda on Sunday joined Muslim faithful in observing Eid-el-Fitr prayers at the Usman bin Affan Mosque Modoji.
The two Rakaats were led by Dr. Zakariyya Aliyu Sandamu.
Addressing journalists after the prayers, Governor Radda expressed gratitude to Allah for the conclusion of Ramadan.
“We reflect on the spiritual renewal and discipline nurtured throughout this sacred month,” the Governor stated.
Governor Radda extended Sallah greetings to the people of Katsina and Muslims worldwide, saying, “To the resilient people of Katsina State and Muslims across the globe, I extend heartfelt wishes, Barka da Sallah. May this day illuminate our hearts with unity, gratitude, and the shared triumph of faith over worldly trials.”
Governor Radda emphasized that Eid al-Fitr serves as “a divine reminder of compassion and communal harmony, urging citizens to embrace this joy with humility, mindful of those less fortunate.”
“As we rejoice, we pray Allah (SWT) accepts our fasting, prayers, and acts of charity, and grants us the strength to sustain these virtues beyond Ramadan. We also beseech His mercy for our departed loved ones, asking that they find eternal peace in His boundless forgiveness,” the Governor prayed.
Governor Radda called on the people of Katsina to celebrate with “reverence, tranquility, and mutual respect,” adding that festivities should reflect the essence of Islam—peace, generosity, and brotherhood.”
He expressed hope that Allah would “guide us to rebuild our communities with justice and empathy,” and protect the state and nation from division.
