Katsina state government has called on wealthy individuals to support community based skills acquisition centres to complement its efforts on poverty alleviation programs.
The commissioner for higher technical and vocational education Alh Isah Muhammad Musa disclosed this in an ongoing tour to the state skills acquisition centres.
Alh Isah Musa who led the ministry’s delegation to the Mani community skills development acquisition centre, ‘Cosdac’ monitored the conduct of the centre final examination with a call for the apprentices to redouble their efforts for self reliance.
The commissioner revealed that the present administration has mandated the tertiary institutions across the state to ensure revitalization of enterpreneureship study in their respective institutions.
He also enjoined the apprentice to strictly concentrate on their skills even after graduation for their economic wellbeing to contribute to the development in the state.
To encourage the apprentice of the centre the commissioner had contracted sewing Sallah clothes to be distributed free to selected orphans for Sallah celebration.
The commissioner pledges rewards for high performing apprentices, hence the need for all stakeholders to support the skills acquisition centres in their respective areas for the economic development of the state and by extension the country at large.
