The Wife of Katsina State Governor, Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Radda says the current APC administration from the top to the least remain resolute towards boosting socio economic well being of women across the country.
Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko stated this during the launching of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative in collaboration with Tony Elumelu Foundation for Women Economic Empowerment program held at Banquet hall, Government House Katsina.
The Governor’s Wife explained that the program was aimed at supporting small businesses, recapitalization grants to 500 women across 36 States and FCT initiated by the first Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
She stated that each beneficiary will receive fifty thousand naira as start up capital to boost their small businesses, urged them to utilized the fund for the purpose they were meant.
She added that from the beginning of the Dikko Radda’s led administration, thousands of women across the 34 Local government areas of the state have benefitted from various skills acquisition programne, start up kits and capital through KASEDA among others.
Hajiya Zulaihat Radda expressed optimism in the belief that the true strength of the society is not measured by the wealth of a few, but by the wellbeing and opportunities available to all.
The Governor’s wife said small businesses are the backbone of the economy as it sustains households, cater for the education of the children of the poor and vulnerable, provide services, and create jobs as it struggles to access the capital required to grow, compete, and withstand economically.
In an interview with some selected beneficiaries, they expressed appreciation to the first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Hajiya Zulaihat Radda for the gesture and promised to utilize the fund judiciously for the development of their small businesses.
