The Katsina State Police Command has succeeded in bursting an 11-member robbery gang who specialises in blocking the Shaiskawa-Charanchi and Katsina-Kankia-Kano roads, robbing unsuspecting motorists.
According to the command, the suspects are
Dikko Maaru; Dardau kabir, (24); Muntari Musa, (22); Labaran Amadu, (22);
Usman Maaru, (25) ;
Lawal zubairu, (22) ;
Nasiru Sanusi, ( 25)
Adamu Kabir, ( 21);
Abdullahi Zubairu,
Muhammad usman, ( 25) and
Sale shehu, ( 23).
The Command’s spokesman, DSP Abubakar Aliyu gave details of the arrest thus ” The breakthrough came on October 12th, 2025, at about 1000 hrs, when a member of the syndicate was intercepted while attempting to dispose of the proceeds of their heinous act, following a credible intelligence report. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, our operatives were able to track down and apprehend the suspect, leading to the arrest of other members of the syndicate.
” During the investigation, eighty (80) wristwatches, 9 mobile phones, and a knife were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.
Aliyu added that the state Police Commissioner, Bello Shehu, while commending the operatives for a job well done, appreciated the public’s support and urged everyone to continue providing useful intelligence and information to aid in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.
Aliyu said the suspects would be charged in court once investigations are concluded.
