The Katsina State Governor represented by the Secretary to the State Government Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari made this known at a one day sensitisation on the introduction of Measles Rubella held at the banquet Hall Government House Katsina.
He emphasized the need for all stakeholders, religious leaders to mobilised people and inform them on the importance of Measles Rubella Vaccine to children.
Early in an address by the wife of Katsina State Governor Hajia Zulaihat Dikko Radda expressed her readiness to join in the fight against the disease.
She said two hundred thousand Naira would be given to wives of the 34 Local Government Areas Chairmen to campaign for the upcoming Measles Rubella Vaccination.
The Commissioner Ministry of health, Dr Musa Adamu Funtua, represented by Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Hamza called on health workers to ensure that no child is left behind, because the disease is different from Measles and deadly to pregnant women and children.
In a separate speeches MRV Coordinator North, West Zone Dr Kabir Mustapha and the Executive secretary SPHC Dr Shamsudeen Yahaya spoke at length on the importance of Immunization.
The Emir of Katsina Alhaji Abdulmimunu Kabir represented by Yandakan Katsina Alhaji Sada Muhammad Sada said his emirate would ensure full compliance.
