Nigeria booked their place in the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 semi-finals with a commanding 2–0 victory over Algeria in their quarter-final clash on January 10, 2026, at the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco.

The Super Eagles had dominated much of the game, building pressure on the Algerian defence throughout the first half, but were unable to find the breakthrough in the opening 45 minutes.

In the 47th minute, striker Victor Osimhen opened the scoring for the Super Eagles with a powerful header from close range, connecting with a well-placed cross from Bruno Onyemaechi just moments into the second half.

Nigeria continued to push forward, and their persistence paid off in the 56th minute when Akor Adams doubled their advantage. After a swift attacking move, Adams finished from inside the box to make it 2-0, putting the Super Eagles firmly in control of the quarter-final tie.

With the 2–0 victory, Nigeria now advance to face tournament hosts Morocco in the AFCON semi-finals.
