Governor Radda Supports NURTW Katsina Chapters with ₦10 Million

  • NURTW Katsina Chapters Endorse President Tinubu, Governor Radda as 2027 Sole Candidate

Katsina State Governor, His Excellency Dikko Umaru Radda, has pledged financial support of ₦10 million to the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Katsina State, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to community development and organized labor.

Governor Radda made the announcement today when he received a delegation of Katsina State NURTW Chapters, led by the Chairman of the Northern Region, Alhaji Musa Garba Yandoma.

Expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for the visit, Governor Radda highlighted the important role of NURTW in Katsina’s social and political development. He commended the union for its contributions during election periods and assured members of continued government support.

“We cannot take this gesture for granted. The efforts of NURTW in supporting communities and maintaining peace are recognized and appreciated. I pledge my support of ₦10 million to assist the Katsina chapters in executing their operations more effectively. Progress in our state, especially in roads and security, must reach every community, and we will continue to double our efforts to serve the people of Katsina,” Governor Radda said.

He further urged NURTW leaders to remain committed to good leadership, promote unity among members, and never forget their roots despite the wealth and development brought to their communities.

Governor Radda assured the union that he would carefully consider their requests based on needs.

Earlier, Alhaji Musa Garba Yandoma, Chairman of NURTW Katsina State and Northern States Region, led a delegation of 96 zonal chairmen to the Governor.

He disclose the delegation came to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Radda, while also commending the Governor’s achievements in the state.

“We thank Allah for blessing us with your leadership as our Governor. You have given us every reason to be proud. Today, we are here to acknowledge the results we are witnessing, especially the improvements in security across the state. Your urban renewal projects and road construction have greatly transformed our communities,” Alhaji Yandoma said.

He also highlighted the Governor’s initiatives to enhance education, including the establishment of smart schools aimed at improving human capital for underprivileged students.

He described the restoration of local government autonomy under Governor Radda’s leadership as a milestone for Katsina State.

The union requested additional support for vehicles to aid their operations across Katsina communities.

During the visit, the NURTW chairman and secretary presented awards to Governor Radda in recognition of his leadership and service.

Other dignitaries present included the Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal; Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura; Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari; Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; and members of the Katsina State Executive Council.
