CP Ali Umar Fage has assumed duty as the Katsina State 27th Commissioner of Police.
According to the spokesman for the state police command, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, Fage assumed duty on March 30th, 2026.
The development followed his recent deployment by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Rilwanu Disu.
CP Ali Umar Fage hails from the Fage LGA in Kano State.
He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP) on the 10th of June, 1994. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in political science obtained from the Bayero University, Kano State.
With over three decades of experience in policing, CP Ali Umar Fage brings a wealth of expertise in operations, investigations, and administration departments, having served as the OC MSS, State Paymaster, OC A-22, and DPO Denge Shuni and Wamako Divisions in Sokoto State Command; OC Anti-Vandalisation and DPO Kurmin Mashi, Kaduna State Command; DPO Ringim, Jigawa State, and OC Monitoring Unit, Zone 1, Kano, Kano State.
He also served as the DPO Kankara, Makera Funtua, Malumfashi, Dutsinma, CPS Funtua, Sabon Garin Daura, Charanchi, Sabon Garin Katsina, and Dandume divisions and then the 2IC Area Commander, Metro Area Command, Katsina State; OC Monitoring Unit; 2IC CID; AC DFA; and DC DFA, Port Authority, Lagos State.
He was later redeployed to Police College, Ikeja, Lagos State, as the Deputy Commandant, where he served until his redeployment to Katsina State Command as the Commissioner of Police in charge of the command.
