Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has launched a fleet of operational vehicles for the Katsina State Safety and Road Traffic Authority (KASROTA) as part of efforts to strengthen traffic management and enforcement across the state.
The newly launched vehicles include enforcement units and recovery trucks aimed at improving operational efficiency, enhancing compliance, and supporting the ongoing urban renewal programme.
Speaking during the launch at Government House, Governor Radda said the initiative underscores his administration’s commitment to maintaining law and order while ensuring a clean and well-organized environment across Katsina State.
“Today, we are here to launch operational vehicles that will strengthen enforcement and improve service delivery. This is part of our effort to maintain law and order and ensure our towns remain clean and properly organized,” the Governor stated.
He emphasized that the deployment of the vehicles will support the state’s broader urban renewal drive and help sustain development efforts across major towns and communities.
“As we continue with our urban renewal initiatives, it is important that we keep pace by enforcing regulations and maintaining standards that reflect a modern and functional state,” he added.
Governor Radda commended the leadership and personnel of KASROTA for their dedication and resilience in carrying out their responsibilities.
“I want to thank the management and staff of KASROTA for their hard work, dedication, and perseverance. This achievement reflects your commitment to duty, and we will continue to support you,” he said.
Earlier, the Director-General of KASROTA, Major Garba Yahaya Rimi (Rtd.), Explained that the newly acquired vehicles, including grain trucks and a mobile operational unit, will significantly improve enforcement activities and service delivery across the state.
“These vehicles will be properly branded and registered to meet all regulatory requirements. They will enhance our ability to monitor compliance and enforce traffic laws effectively,” the DG stated.
He further noted that the vehicles will support legal enforcement processes, particularly in handling offenders who fail to present valid documentation, ensuring due process is followed at all times.
The initiative represents a major boost to KASROTA’s operations and aligns with the state government’s commitment to improving public safety, traffic management, and institutional efficiency.
The launch also highlights the administration’s focus on equipping agencies with the necessary tools to deliver on their mandates and enhance service delivery to the people of Katsina State.
