The Katsina State Government has stated that former spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Major General Rabe Abubakar, died while in the custody of bandits despite efforts by the government and security agencies to secure his safe release.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Security, Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu, the government said the late Major General died as a result of health complications, including diabetes and high blood pressure.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating that the state government will continue to work closely with the Federal Government and security agencies to end banditry and ensure that those responsible for this tragic act are brought to justice.
