The Director General Katsina State Erosion and Watershed Management Agency (KEWMA) Alhaji Mannir Ayuba Sullubawa has charged residents of the state to ensure clearing of water ways in their area during this raining season to avoid flooding.
Alhaji Mannir Ayuba Sullubawa gave the advise while inspecting the water ways at Dutsen Amare Quarters in Katsina Metropolis.
Alhaji Mannir Ayuba Sullubawa revealed that, his Agency received complaint letter through councilor representing Gabas Two on the situation of the water ways in the area.
The Director General explained that, Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda is committed to addressing the flooding especially during raining season.
Alhaji Mannir Ayuba stressed that such community efforts en-courage government to address the problems of flooding in the communities.
Earlier the Secretary Dutsen Amare Community Development, Malam Abubakar Muhammad, shortly after going round with the Director General said the water ways in the area is causing panic to the people residing in the area.
Malam Abubakar Muhammad appreciated the visitation of the Director General of agency, according to him, there is a clear indication that government is committed to addressing their situation.
