The state Commissioner for  Sports and Youth Development, Mal Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle made the declaration during a visit to the Daura and Mani Centers to oversee the ongoing 2024 inter-local government football competition (Governor’s Cup). 

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the preparation put in place to ensure the tournament’s success.

Shargalle also praised the participating local governments for their sportsmanship, which is producing excellent results in the present tournament. 

The Commissioner stated that the goal of holding the football competition is to strengthen the positive relationship among the state’s 34 local governments while also exposing talented young players. 

He used the visit to the two centers to congratulate the state governor, Mal Dikko Radda, for his persistent efforts to ensure that the state’s youngsters participate in sports. 

The Commissioner charged the players  who were competing in the tournament to be of good conduct so that the competition could fulfill its goals. 

The match between Dutsi and Mani in Mani center ended in a 1-0 victory for Dutsi local government. 

In Daura center, the encounter between Mai’adua and the Daura local governments was abandoned at two goals to one in favor of Daura following a downpour that interrupted the match.
