Katsina wins 2024 President Tinubu’s U-18 boys peace soccer tournament

The Katsina State U-18 Youths team has emerged winners of 2024 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu U-18 Boys Peace Soccer Tournament.

The Katsina State team defeated its counterpart, Kwara by a lone goal to retain the trophy as the defending champions.

In this year’s tournament, Katsina State team played five matches, scoring 14 times, conceding no goal, with 5 clean sheets and zero defeat to set a new record for the competition.

Similarly, the team wins the best goalkeeper award and that of Coach of the tournament while Kwara state team who became runners up got the best player of the tournament.

The winners of the tournament were presented with a trophy and gold medals, while runners up got silver medals and the 3rd place Kebbi state team got certificate.

The National Vice president of YSFON, Mustapha Allah-dey expressed gratitude for the conduct of the tournament and acknowledged the support of Katsina State Government which makes the competition a successful one.

Mustapha Allah-dey also commended the participating states for exhibiting sportsmanship and discipline throughout the tournament.
