Received by the Deputy Governor, Farouk Jobe, at the Government House on behalf of Governor Dikko Radda as part of the minister’s familiarisation tour to the ongoing Federal Government projects particularly in the North West region of the country.

The minister further highlighted, “I’m in compliance with an order of the president to assess all projects started by the previous administration across the six geopolitical zones of the country.

“The federal government has made adequate budgetary provision for the completion of the ongoing projects and new ones initiated by the president.

“In line with the new policy, the state governments would now take the responsibility of the payment of compensation to owners of lands to be acquired for the road projects.”

He therefore requested the state government to provide security to the construction firm to ensure the timely execution of the projects.

The Katsina State Deputy Governor, Faruk Jobe, on his own part reaffirmed government commitment to expedite the completion of the Katsina-Kano federal highway project.

He assured that the state government would find a way out on the payment of compensation to owners of land used for the road project in line with the policy of the federal highway.

Jobe also emphasised on the need to ensure the project is commissioned as scheduled.

In his own words, “The state government is passionate about the road project being one of the most important projects that would not only transform the economic activities in the State but improve the livelihood and security across the North West.”

He concluded by appreciating the federal government on the ongoing federal projects in the state with the initiation of new ones promising adequate security will be provided by the state government to the construction firm to carry out the project.
