Police operatives in katsina state have commenced investigation on a 38- year old man , Mubarak Bello driving a car with questionable Registration number in Kurfi Local Government.
Found inside the car were
firearms, fake police identity card and an extra registration number.
Spokesman for the katsina police command, DSP Abubakar Aliyu confirmed the development.
Aliyu provided details of the arrest thus :” The Katsina State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Bello Shehu, has succeeded in arresting a suspect for illegal possession of firearm and impersonation, and recovered significant exhibits.
“On September 13th, 2025, at about 0230 hrs, while on routine patrol, officers attached to the command’s department of operations successfully arrested one Mubarak Bello, m, age 38, of Kofar Yamma quarters, Kurfi LGA, Katsina State, in connection with illegal possession of firearm and impersonation.
“The team, acting on heightened vigilance and proactive policing strategies, intercepted a Toyota Corolla, ash color, with registration No. Lagos GGE 473 BH, driven by the suspect.
“Upon questioning, the suspect could not provide a satisfactory account of himself or the vehicle, prompting an immediate search.
” During the search of the vehicle, the following were recovered as exhibits from the suspect:
One (1) locally fabricated rifle,
Four (4) live cartridges
Two (2) expended shells of cartridges
A fake police ID card, and an extra plate number (Kano FGE 68).”
The command spokesman said investigations were already on top gear to unravel more about the man and the circumstances surrounding all the exhibits found in his possession.
