Governor Radda Pledges Stronger Synergy with Police to Deepen Peace and Security

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to consolidate peace, protect lives and property, and sustain public confidence across the state.

The Governor made this known today while receiving the newly posted Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 14 Headquarters, Katsina, AIG Umar Shehu Nadada, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Katsina.

AIG Nadada, the 8th Assistant Inspector-General of Police to head Zone 14, assumed duty on Monday, January 5, 2026.

He is a seasoned officer with over three decades of distinguished service in operational, investigative and administrative duties across the country.

Governor Radda described the visit as timely and significant, noting that the wealth of experience, professionalism and strategic background of the new AIG would further strengthen ongoing efforts to combat crime and enhance security across Katsina State and the entire Zone 14.

“That is why I considered it important to warmly receive you and your team today, as we look forward to working together to deepen cooperation, improve intelligence sharing and consolidate the gains already recorded in the fight against all forms of criminality in our dear state,” the Governor said.

He assured the AIG of the full support of the Katsina State Government, stressing that his administration would continue to provide the necessary logistics, policy backing and community engagement required to enhance effective policing, intelligence-led operations and public safety.

Governor Radda also commended officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies for their sacrifices and resilience, urging them to sustain professionalism, respect for the rule of law and closer partnership with communities in order to build lasting trust and confidence.

Earlier, AIG Umar Shehu Nadada said the purpose of the visit was to formally introduce himself, pay his respects to the Governor and familiarize himself with the security architecture of the state, in line with established protocol for newly posted senior officers.

He commended Governor Radda for his support to security agencies and assured of close cooperation with the state government to strengthen intelligence gathering, crime prevention and public safety.

The AIG also called on residents of Katsina and Kaduna States within the Zone to remain law-abiding and to continue to support the Police with timely and useful information to enable prompt and decisive action against all forms of crime and criminality.

Those in attendance included the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Bello Shehu, alongside other senior police officers and top security personnel from across Zone 14.
