A combined team of security operatives including operatives of Katsina State Police command has killed two bandits in Gidan Soda village, Dandume Local Government Area of the state.
A gang of bandits including the duo had early Tuesday morning, attacked the village where they killed a 30 year old woman.
The spokesman for the state police command, DSP Abubakar Aliyu who confirmed the incident , said a combined team of security operatives who were alerted of the bandits’ action , subsequently stormed the village where they confronted the hoodlums, resulting in the death of the two members of the gang.
Aliyu explained in a statement made public in katsina on Thursday ” On the 17th of February, 2025, at about 0045 hrs, information was received at Dandume village that some suspected armed bandits armed with dangerous weapons shooting sporadically attacked Gidan Soda village, Dandume LGA, where they fatally shot one Hassana Muhammad, f, age 30, before the arrival of security operatives.
“Upon receipt of the report, the DPO quickly mobilised operatives, who, in collaboration with the military and members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), responded to the scene.
“The team engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel, successfully foiling the attack as the hoodlums fled the scene due to superior firepower.
“While scanning the scene, the bodies of two (2) neutralised suspected bandits and one Boxer motorcycle were recovered from the scene. Efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspects as the investigation proceeds.
“The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Bello Shehu psc fdc MNIM, commended the team for a job well done and the level of professionalism displayed during the operation. He further reiterated the commitment of the command in synergy with sister security agencies in the state towards ensuring safety and security throughout the state.”
