The Katsina State Police Command has announced the deployment of enhanced security measures and adequate personnel to safeguard lives and property before, during, and after the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Command said the measures are part of a broader strategy, in collaboration with other security agencies, to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah across the state.

As part of efforts to maintain order during traditional festivities, the Command disclosed that it has, in conjunction with the Durbar Organising Committee, banned the participation of “Yan Tauri” in all Sallah Durbar activities.

The directive also extends to any individual or group found carrying dangerous weapons such as knives, clubs, swords, and similar objects.

Residents are urged to strictly comply to guarantee a safe and successful celebration.

The Police further called on parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against engaging in unlawful acts, including illegal horse riding, traffic violations, unlawful gatherings, and other forms of anti-social behaviour capable of disrupting public peace.

While reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance on crime, the Command warned criminal elements and social miscreants to desist from illegal activities, noting that it is fully prepared to take decisive action against anyone attempting to undermine the relative peace in the state.

Residents were also encouraged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements or incidents to security agencies, stressing that public cooperation remains critical to sustaining peace and security.

The Command reassured citizens of its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring a secure environment throughout the festive period.

For emergencies, members of the public are advised to contact the Command through the following hotlines: 08156977777, 09022209690, and 07072722539.
