Three men from the Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State have been reportedly killed by bandits after allegedly kidnapping a boy and killing him after collecting ransom from his family.
The victim, identified as Umar Sa’ad Moba, was reportedly kidnapped by the three men and handed over to a group of bandits.
According to reports, Umar’s family paid millions of naira as ransom for his release.
The bandits reportedly handed the boy back to the three men to return him to his family after the ransom was paid.
However, the men allegedly killed Umar in the bush because they knew him and feared he could identify them.
They reportedly abandoned his body and left the scene.
When Umar failed to return home after the ransom was paid, his family contacted the bandits to establish his whereabouts.
The bandits reportedly told the family that the boy had been released to the three men.
The bandits later allegedly lured the suspects back by telling them that additional ransom had been received.
Upon their return, the three men were reportedly detained and questioned.
They allegedly confessed to killing Umar and disclosed the location where they had abandoned his body.
The three suspects were reportedly later killed by the bandits.
