Terrorists suspected to be bandits have attacked Dantutture community in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing a resident, identified as Alhaji Sa’adu Dantutture, and abducting two people.
Reporters gathered that the attackers stormed the community on Thursday night, sending residents into panic as they carried out the assault.
A security reporter confirmed on Friday that troops of the Nigerian Army’s 17 Brigade, working alongside local vigilantes, responded swiftly to the attack.
According to him, the troops and vigilantes engaged the terrorists during the operation.
Three of the bandits were reportedly killed during the encounter, while another terrorist fled the scene, abandoning his weapon.
The quick intervention by the troops and local vigilantes reportedly prevented the attackers from causing further damage in the community.
However, the attack resulted in the death of Alhaji Sa’adu Dantutture, while two other residents were abducted by the terrorists.
