The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a suspected notorious drug dealer and recovered a total of fifteen thousand (15,000) pieces of neatly concealed Pregabalin tablets.
According to the Command’s spokesman, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, On October 17, 2026, at about 5:30 p.m, credible intelligence was received at the Central Market Division, Katsina, regarding the movement of a suspect carrying a large quantity of illicit drugs.
Aliyu added” Promptly, acting on the intelligence, at about 6:30 p.mgggf on the same date, operatives attached to the division intercepted and arrested one Junaidu Rabi’u, ‘m’, 45 .
” Upon search, he was found in possession of fifteen thousand (15,000) pieces, equivalent to one thousand (1,000) sachets of Pregabalin tablets.
” During preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to the crime, stating that he was contracted by one Nafi’u (now at large) to receive and convey the consignment on his behalf.
” Efforts are being intensified to track down and arrest the fleeing accomplice. The suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.”
The State Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, while commending the operatives for their prompt and tactful action, reiterated the Command’s unrelenting commitment to combating all forms of crime and criminality in the State.
