A group of selected Journalists under the umbrella of Search for Common Ground journalism trained in Birnin Kebbi have concluded arrangements for impact series Award to His Excellency Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State.
The selected journalists who were opportune to stay in Birnin Kebbi for the period of their training expressed satisfaction with the level of development recorded under Governor Idris.
The team leader of the Common Ground journalist Alhaji Ibrahim Tambuwal of News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) said “we witnesses a Firsthand development that brings real dividend with proven results in Kebbi State”.
He said these projects we inspected in Birnin Kebbi are not just inspiring, they are evidence in connecting the entire communities in the state under a period of 2 years of Governor Idris.
According to him, these selected journalists from katsina, Zamfara, Kwara, Niger and Kebbi State were convinced that the multiply developmental projects inspected were real investment that amplified the need for choosing the Impact Award to the Governor in Kebbi.
He said ” You did your best when the political and Security tensions dominated headlines as we in Common Ground discovered something unique that promote peace and unity among communities in Kebbi under your leadership style “.
We are therefore ready to present the Award at a grand ceremony on May 29, 2025 in Birnin Kebbi.
The selected journalists during their training period were able to inspect, the multi billion naira modern state secretariat, A new international motor park, Special schools, and were also briefed on the renovation of Argungu Hospital, at the cost of # 7.2 billion naira Argungu road and some 300 km rural roads among others.
The common Ground journalist were successfully trained on peace building, promotion of unity discouraging revenge and retaliation amongst communities of Nigeria and Benin border in Birnin Kebbi.
