APC set to emerge winner in Katsina governorship poll

Governorship candidate on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Katsina State, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, has taking an unassailable lead in the results of 33 out of the 34 local government areas in the state so far declared.

According to the results disclosed in the state collation centre in Katsina under the watch of Prof. Muazu Abubakar, Vice Chancellor, Federal University Gusau, Dr. Radda’s arch-rival, Sen. Yakubu Lado, of the Peoples Democratuc Party, emerged in a distance second position with virtually half of the votes scored by the APC flag bearer.

The other candidates in the election with significant votes are Engr. Nura Khalil of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Imran Jaafaru Juno of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).

The collation exercise resumed by 8pm this evening with agents of the 13 political parties vying for the governorship position among other stakeholders in attendance.
