Gov Masari urges law makers to adhere to constitutional roles

 . . .As APC boosts its majority in Katsina Assembly to 33 out of 34 members

The Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, has called on law makers to adhere to their constitutional role presenting the needs of their constituents to the executive arm of government to undertake through development projects, policies and programmes.

Gov Masari gave this charge in Government House Katsina while receiving the winners of two state assembly seats in April 18, 2023, supplementary elections.

He also urged Katsina and indeed Nigerian electorate to reduce their level of demands on legislators, saying the powers of the legislative members of government are limited to law making.

The governor, who congratulated the newly elected lawmakers on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), appealed to them to be steadfast in the discharge their duties and embrace an open door policy.

Earlier, the Director General of the APC Campaign Council, Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, who led the lawmkers-elect to the governor, said they were in the Government House to present to  Gov Masari the Certificates of Return issued to the winners of the legislative seats during the just concluded supplementary elections.  

According to him, with the victory of Salisu Hamza Rimaye in Kankia constituency and  Zaharaddeen Usman Sani in Kurfi Constituency respectively,  the APC won 33 out 34 seats in the State Assembly.

He thanked the state governor for giving him the mandate to lead the APC campaign council in the state.

In their separate remarks, Alhaji Salisu Hamza Rimaye and Zaharaddeen Usman Sani expressed gratitude to Almighty for making it possible for them to emerge victorious at the polls and promised to deliver a good representation.

They however pleaded for prayers and support in achieving the set goals.
