Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has been garlanded by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) National Stakeholders Forum.
Gov. Masari received the letter of award and appointment as Life Patron of the Forum from its Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT), retired Col. Abdulmumini Aminu, in Katsina yesterday.
Shedding more light on the award, Col. Aminu said Gov Masari bagged the award in recognition of his consistent role in APC “victory without rancour” in successive elections.
The former military governor of Borno State, who described Gov Masari as one of the notable personalities to be honoured with an award, said: “The Forum plans to organize a special prayer session for peace and continued success of the APC administration on May 13, 2023, at the Presidential Banquet Hall in Abuja”
Receiving the delegation, Gov Masari lauded the group for recognizing and appreciating the role he played in the power shift to the south, saying it’s in the best interest of the country and Nigerians.
According to him, though the power shift was not enshrined in the constitution, it was not against it.
“The decision by some eminent Nigerians on power shift is for the overall interest of the nation,” he said.
