Commissioners: Radda submits 20 nominees, including 5 ex -commissioners, to Katsina Assembly for screening, confirmation

Katsina State Governor, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, today forwarded a list of 20 nominees for screening and confirmation as commissioners by the State House of Assembly.The Government House statement made available to KATSINA MIRROR shows that no fewer than five former commissioners in the immediate past administration of Aminu Bello Masari and his predecessor, Ibrahim Shehu Shema, were offered commissionership slots again.The former commissioners under Masari’s administration include Hon. Hamza Suleiman Faskari, former commissioner for environment; Dr. Bishir Gambo Saulawa, former commissioner for sports; Hon. Musa Adamu Funtua, former commissioner for water resources and Assoc. Prof. Badamasi Charanchi, former education commissioner, while Dr. Nasir Muazu Danmusa, one time commissioner for water resources under Shema’s administration also made the list.Prominent among other nominees is Hon. Bishir Tanimu Gambo Dutsin-ma, an associate of the former leader of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state and former governor, Shema, currently enjoying warm relationship with Governor Radda.Others are Prof. Abduhamid Ahmed Mani; Alhaji Isah Muhammad Musa (Kankara LGA), Dr. Sani Magaji (Ingawa LGA), Dr. Faisal Umar (Kaita LGA), Prof. Ahmed Mohammed (BakoriLGA), Hon. Ishaq Shehu Dabai (Danja LGA), Mallam Bala Salisu (Zango LGA), Yusuf Rabiu Jirdede (Mai’adua LGA), Aliyu Lawal Zakari (Dutsi LGA), Barr. Fadila Muhammad Dikko (Kurfi LGA), Hajiya Hadiza Yar’adua (Katsina LGA), Hajiya Zainab M. Musawa (Musawa LGA) and Alhaji Adnan Nahabu (Daura LGA).In a statement, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Radda, hailed the diverse background of the nominees and described them as well-equipped with expertise and experience to contribute to the development and progress of Katsina as members of the State Executive Council.He said: “These nominees possess a wealth of knowledge, experience, and leadership skills that qualify them for their respective portfolios. “Once confirmed by the Katsina State House of Assembly, they will assume crucial positions within the State Executive Council, playing a vital role in driving the government’s agenda for the betterment of Katsina State and its people.”These proposed commissioners will oversee critical areas such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, finance, and more. Leveraging their collective expertise, they will contribute to the formulation and execution of policies and programs aimed at addressing the needs and aspirations of the citizens of Katsina State.”He also expressed Gov. Radda’s confidence that the Katsina State House of Assembly will diligently screen and confirm the nominees to ensure a swift and effective transition for the State Executive Council.”Upon confirmation, the commissioners will assume their responsibilities with a focus on transparency, accountability, and collaboration.”They will work closely with the governor and other stakeholders to fulfill the government’s promises, uphold good governance, and improve the lives of the people of Katsina State,” he assured. # # # # # # #
