Gov Radda inaugurates Masari’s son, 37 others as cabinet members

Katsina State Governor, Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda,  has inaugurated the newly appointed members of the State Executive Council with Abdulkarim, son of the immediate past governor of the state, Aminu Bello Masari, as one of the 18 special advisers in the new council.

The governor charged the council members to embrace a spirit of dedication and commitment, stressing the need for tangible results in their assigned portfolios to fulfill the aspirations of the people.

The newly appointed  Commissioners and their respective ministries are:

Prof. Ahmed Mohammed Bakori – Agriculture and Livestock Development.

Hon. Ishaq Shehu Dabai – Religious Affairs.

Assoc. Prof. Badamasi Lawal, Ph.D – Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Dr. Nasir Mu’azu Danmusa – Internal Security and Home Affairs.

Mallam Bala M. Salisu Zango – Information and Culture.

Prof. Abdulhamid Ahmed Mani – Higher, Technical and Vocational Education.

Hon. Musa Adamu Funtua – Environment.

Alhaji Yusuf Rabi’u Jirdede – Youth and Sports Development.

Hon. Aliyu Lawal Zakari – Rural and Social Development, 

Hon. Bishir Tanimu Gambo – Finance

Barr. Fadila Muhammad Dikko – Justice and Attorney General.

Hon. Hamza Suleiman Faskari – Water Resources

Alhaji Isa Muhammad Musa – Special Duties

Engr. Dr. Sani Magaji Ingawa – Works, Housing and Transport.

Dr. Faisal Umar Kaita – Lands and Physical Planning.

Alhaji Bello Husaini Kagara – Budget and Economic Planning.

Hon. Dr. Bashir Gambo Saulawa – Health.

Hajiya Hadiza Yar’adua – Tuggar – Basic and Secondary Education.

Hajiya Zainab M. Musawa – Women Affairs.

Alhaji Adnan Nahabu –  Commerce Trade and Investment.

According to a statement by Ibrahim Kayla Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, the appointments affirmed the government’s commitment to a comprehensive and impactful governance approach. 

“The officials are expected to serve with dedication, integrity, and the highest level of professionalism, contributing significantly to the growth and development of Katsina State, he quoted the governor saying at the inaugural executive council meeting.

Governor Radda underscored the importance of delivering on the expectations of the citizens. He urged the council members to perceive their appointments as opportunities to serve the people and make meaningful contributions to the growth and development of the state.

He also emphasized the significance of the executive council as the highest advisory and decision-making body of the state government, while highlighting the council’s role in deliberating and making crucial decisions that impact the welfare of the citizens. 

The governor urged the council members to approach their responsibilities with a keen sense of responsibility and integrity, ensuring that the projects and programs discussed during the council meetings are of utmost benefit to the state’s populace.

“The citizens of the state expect a great deal from you, considering your caliber and the promises made during the electioneering campaign,” Governor Radda stated. 

He urged the council members to uphold transparency and accountability, briefing the council accurately on the progress of projects and programs under their respective portfolios.

Mallam  Radda also emphasized the importance of a harmonious working relationship between the council members and their subordinates. He expressed his commitment to an open-door policy, encouraging the council members to engage with him on matters concerning the state’s development.

The governor concluded by urging the council members to align with his administration’s vision of “building the future,” as they collectively work towards achieving the intended policies and programs that will shape the state’s growth trajectory. Mallam Dikko Radda reiterated the urgency of fulfilling their mandate within the four-year tenure and urged the council members to serve with a strong sense of purpose and the fear of God.

The swearing-in of the new Katsina State Executive Council marked a pivotal moment in the state’s journey towards progress and prosperity, with the council members poised to contribute their expertise and dedication to the state’s development agenda, he stated.
