Katsina police rescue five kidnap victims

Operatives of the Katsina police command have rescued five kidnapped victims in Kankara local government area of the state. 

The victims’ names are given as  Bashir Malqm Sani, 25; Kamaladdeen Sani, 23 ; Musa Muhammad, 22; Sagir Umar, 20  and Muntari Sama’ila, 20, all of Magamin Mai Tarko, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara state.

The Command’s spokesman, ASP Abubakar Aliyu said the victims were on their way to Zamfara state from Abuja on 9, March, 2024 when they were attacked and kidnapped  along Kushere village in Zamfara State and were taken to the Katsina forest where they were  locked in chain before their rescue.

Aliyu added that efforts were on to reunite the victims with their respective families.

The Command’s spokesman further explained ” On March 25, 2024, at about 07.35 a.m, the Katsina State Police Command, under the able leadership of CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, psc+, while on routine patrols around Masiga village, Kankara Local Government Area, operatives attached to the Kankara Divisional Police Headquarters succeeded in rescuing five (5) kidnapped victims, namely:  Bashir Malqm Sani, 25; Kamaladdeen Sani, 23; Musa Muhammad, 22; Sagir Umar, m., 20  and ⁠Muntari Sama’ila, m. 20 , all of Magamin Mai Tarko, Maru Local Government  Area of Zamfara State.

“The victims, who were en route to Zamfara State from FCT Abuja on 9/3/2024, were attacked and kidnapped by their kidnappers along Kushere village in Zamfara State and were taken to the Katsina forest locked in chain, where they were eventually rescued by our operatives.

“Currently, the rescued victims are responding to medical treatment as efforts are being made to reunite them with their families as the investigation proceeds with a view to arresting the perpetrators of the dastardly act.”
