Easter: Niger Governor wants Christians to sustain prayers for peace in state, Nigeria

Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state has implored Christians to sustain prayers for enduring peace in the state and in  Nigeria.

This, he said had become imperative because peace is the prerequisite for any meaningful development.

The Governor made the appeal in Minna through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim.

 He congratulated  Christians in Niger State and in various parts of Nigeria  on the Easter celebration.

The Governor noted that Easter is a significant celebration observed by Christians to commemorate the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which, he added,  is the hallmark of the Christian faith.

 According to the Governor Easter season depicts love, sacrifice and forgiveness as epitomized by Jesus Christ.

 He assured  that he would not rest on his oars to ensure that his policy thrusts for the “New Niger” are achieved.

While felicitating with the Christians on Easter celebration, the Governor also called on them to use the period to solemnly reflect and imbibe all the virtues of Jesus Christ for the good of all.

He urged them to take advantage of the Easter period to sustain their prayers to Allah for an end to insecurity in the state and in Nigeria.

 The Governor also restated his administration’s unwavering resolve to confront the security challenges bedevilling the state head on.
