Insecurity: Governor Radda unveils 10 Armoured Carrier vehicles

In a bid to end the menace of banditry in Katsina State, Governor Dikko Radda on  Monday unveiled 10 additional Armoured Carrier vehicles.

Speaking at the handing over of the APC vehicles to the Divisional Police Officers of the eight frontline local governments, the Governor said ” the APC vehicles are procured to compliment the efforts of security agencies in the state in their efforts of fighting banditry in the state.” 

He further disclosed that a joint team of police, the state community watch corps and the Civil Defence Corps will utilize the vehicles in their patrols and operations.

The Governor applauded the conventional security agencies and the state Community Watch Corps for their unwavering efforts of fighting banditry and other related crimes in the state.

He further reiterated the commitment of his administration in ensuring the safety of lives and properties of people in the state. 

He  expressed optimism that the menace of banditry and terrorism will soon end in the state and the country at large.

Also speaking at the handing over of the APC vehicles, the state commissioner of Internal security and Home Affairs, Dr Nasir Muazu condemned the barbaric operations of bandits in the state. 

The Commissioner said Katsina state government under the leadership of Governor Radda will not leave any stone unturned in its efforts to end the scourge of all forms of terrorism in the state. 

He emphasized that with the coming of this administration, insecurity has been reduced to the minimal level in the state. According to him at the inception of this administration about 23 local governments were under siege of bandits,adding that only a few are now affected by the banditry.

“We are doing everything possible to secure the lives and properties of people of Katsina as we are on top of the situation” he said.

It would be recalled that Governor Radda, few months ago, inaugurated the state community Watch Corps to compliment and support the conventional state actors in curtailing the security challenges affecting the state, according to the state Commissioner of Information and Culture, Dr Bala  Zango.
