The police have confirmed bandits’ attack on two villages in Dandume communities during which two people were injured.
One suspected bandit was arrested during the attack .
The Spokesman for the State Poice Command, DSP Abubakar Aliyu confirmed the development yesterday.
He explained” The Katsina State Police Command has successfully repelled a bandits’ attack on Unguwar Bido and Unguwar Kanawa villages, Dandume LGA, and arrested one suspected bandit.
“On April 28th, 2026, at about 10:00 pm, a distress call was received that a large number of heavily armed bandits had invaded the villages. Upon receipt of the report, swiftly, the DPO Dandume mobilised teams of police operatives and responded to the scene.
” Upon arrival, the teams tactically engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel and repelled the attack, forcing the bandits to abandon their mission and flee in disarray with suspected casualties. During the operation, one of the bandits was successfully arrested.
” Unfortunately, the bandits shot and injured two residents. The victims were promptly rushed to the nearest hospital for immediate medical attention and are currently responding to treatment.
Aliyu added that the State Police Commissioner, Ali Umar Fage, ” while commending the gallantry and prompt response of the DPO and his team, further directed a thorough investigation and manhunt for the fleeing suspects.”
Members of the public were also urged to remain vigilant and support the command with credible information.
